Sciatica can get in the way of life’s joys. You can’t spend time with your kids or grandkids, participate in your favorite exercise, sports, or outdoor activities, or just get through the day without back pain. So many people suffer from sciatica and other back issues that they are the most common reasons for doctor visits.
At Natural Foundations, we have a variety of treatments to provide fast and long-term relief of sciatica. Our goal is to do more than just eliminate your pain. We want to restore range of motion and give you a chance at leading a full life without the hindrance of chronic pain.
What is Sciatica?
The sciatic nerve is located in the lower back and buttocks, and it is the largest nerve in the body. Sciatica is an irritation of the nerve that causes pain in the lower back and leg.
What causes the sciatic nerve irritation? The most common causes are a pinched nerve or a herniated or slipped disc. Other causes include abnormal spinal disc (radiculopathy), infections, spinal stenosis, and piriformis syndrome (caused by a tight piriformis muscle in one of the buttocks).
Our Treatments for Sciatica
Through the use of a wide variety of treatment methods, we can alleviate sciatica symptoms using a comprehensive approach. We will design a tailored treatment regimen that is specific to you, without the need for surgical intervention.
While the hallmark of our sciatica treatment is spinal decompression, in our experience, this therapy alone does not produce results. If you have tried it before without relief, the likely result is that you did not see a doctor with our type of comprehensive approach.
For long-term results, the therapies must promote repair and rehydration of the spinal discs, while also treating the muscles, joints, and nerves. Our modalities, including vibration and the M6 laser, are excellent methods for rehydration. They reduce inflammation and coordinate brain/muscle/nerve communication.
Our treatments include:
- Spinal decompression
- Chiropractic adjustments
- Laser therapy
- Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF)
- Functional Neurology
- Rapid Release Therapy
